I'm a freelance artist who specializes in character design and surreal human-centric art.

About

Hi! I'm Aspen. I'm an independent artist living in Colorado.

I make art in all sorts of mediums, both physical and digital, and I also dabble in jewelry making on occasion. I typically use Clip Studio Paint for my digital works, and physically I lean towards acrylics and watercolors.

This website acts as a hub for examples of my work as well as links to other online places I am active. I'm going to add to it soon with more information about how you can purchase my art and generally support me!

Prior work experience + Education:

  • Showed photography in a gallery through the Pablove Shutterbugs.

  • Art director intern for Out Boulder's Youth dance. I did advertisement, floor planning, and decoration work.

  • Also assisted in shirt design graphics for Out Boulder pride shirts in 2019.

  • Contributor to Eclipse: a fan zine in 2020. A zine for Intermission characters in Homestuck, along with those in Problem Sleuth.

  • Contributor to Great At Zine, an Epithet Erased zine in 2020. I also participated in the sequel zine, Great At Zine: Plushies & Vacation in 2022. I made a full art piece as well as merchandise for both issues.

Eldritch Tree? Changeling Branch?

Previously I've gone by the name "eldritchtree" which appears on some of my older art on this website. All of the art on this website was made by me, regardless of signature.Below I have some miscellaneous projects I worked on while going by eldritch tree that I am very proud of. Please check them out if you'd like!I also used changelingbranch as my website URL and signature for a while, but that was briefer.

Commission Info

I do character art commissions (Art of a pre-existing character, yours or fan art),
character design, comic pages, and simple animation.I also draw scenes/backgrounds, real or imagined.And I draw creatures/monsters and some animals.I don't feel specifically skilled with some subject matter and may decline commissions for it. I want you to get high quality art. I may recommend other artists to you for things outside of my skill set in this case.

Characters, Estimate Costs and Examples:

Prices listed are in USD. Cost may vary, and will be outlined in email correspondence.I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who treats me or my inbox poorly.That being said, I will take all sincere commissions seriously, so long as it is not a bigoted or hateful request.

I'm Open to Drawing:

  • Pastel/glittery/cartoonish gore.

  • Injury and blood.

  • Monsters/monstrous characters. Some body horror.

I Will Not Draw:

  • Hateful art towards any race, minority, religion, gender identity or sexuality.

  • Excessive realistic gore. IE: Guts spilling out.

  • Excessively unsanitary subject matter.

The Commission Process:

  1. The first step is to fill out and submit my commission form.

  2. After you've done this I will email you questions about your commission so I'm certain of what you're looking for, and the price for the art piece you described in the form.

  3. At this stage we can go back and forth if needed. We can adjust elements of your commission to adjust the price.

  4. When you agree to the given price, I will send you an invoice.

  5. After you pay the invoice I will start working on your commission and send you sketches via email to get your opinion on how it should look.

  6. I may send you multiple in-progress pictures of your commission during the process, either as updates or to ask for your opinion.

  7. When the commission is done I will send you the high resolution file! Success! You've helped support an independent artist and gotten cool custom art as a result!

Note: I may use your commission to promote my skills. I will use a lower resolution version with a signature over it for promotions. If you are uncomfortable with this please let me know during our email correspondence.
